SUPPORT THE CHILDREN

Our Mission

The Lagman-Prouty Foundation was founded to provide impoverished children in the Philippines with the essentials to grow, learn, and thrive.

What We Do

Our purpose is to help needy children through various charitable projects.  We collect children's books and school supplies to send to underserved schools in the Philippines. We also provide financial support to sustain a feeding program that serves malnourished elementary students. We have established a children's play area for a hospital's pediatric cancer patients.

How You Can Help
We need donations of elementary-level books, school supplies, laptops, DVD players, and educational toys. Please contact us for drop-off information and assistance in organizing local drives.

News and Highlights

Hip-hip-hooray for Cherry Vinluan!

We're so proud of Cherry Vinluan, teacher-librarian at Guagua Elementary School in Guagua, Pampanga! As part of her award for being named one of Metrobank Foundation's Most Outstanding Teachers, she spent her summer break touring Australia, receiving curriculum training and visiting schools to observe "best practices" that can be adopted to help Filipino students. She also presented an Action Plan that is currently being implemented at the Ruben R. Lagman Library and Reading Center at her school.

We are so fortunate to have Cherry on the Lagman-Prouty Foundation team!

Project Highlight

When teacher Sharon Morales transferred from San Rafael Elementary School, which was equipped with a LPF library, to Sta. Ines Elementary School, which had no library, she knew what her first order of business was.  So, with the support and assistance of the Lagman-Prouty Foundation and the SIES principal, teachers, alumni, and community, Sharon spearheaded a campaign to build, paint, furnish, and stock a new library for the students and staff of her new school. The "Lagman-Prouty Library" at Sta. Ines Elementary School in Betis, Pampanga, offically opened this July. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of many individuals, there are curtains on the windows, electric fans on the ceilings, murals on the walls, books on the shelves, and a constant rotation of students in the chairs, learning to read, broadening their world, and dreaming of their futures.

The Lagman-Prouty Foundation's hope is not only to assist as many individuals as possible through our own work, but also to inspire and challenge others to take up the cause and join in. Together, look at what we've been able to accomplish!
