The Lagman-Prouty Foundation

Ruben R. Lagman Library at Guagua Elementary School, Guagua Pampanga
Ruben Lagman and his 12 siblings grew up in Guagua and attended GES in the 1930s-40s. It had long been his wish to someday be able to “give back” to his alma mater and in 2011, he sponsored a library there. It has become one of the premier libraries in the district, led by teacher-librarian Cherry Vinluan, a 2013 recipient of the MetroBank 10 Most Outstanding Teachers award.

Ryan & Kyle Prouty Library at San Rafael Elementary School, Guagua, Pampanga
By 2011, 15-year-old Ryan Prouty and his 13-year-old brother, Kyle, were already well-established literacy volunteers in their Massachusetts community and they were interested in sponsoring a library in their grandfather's hometown. When they learned that SRES serves some of its district's poorest families, they knew that this would be the school where they could make the most impact. With the support of teachers Mike Datu and Leo Jingco, it has been expanded to serve the entire community.

Lagman-Prouty Library at
Sta. Ines Elementary School,
Betis, Guagua, Pampanga
The 2013 establishment of this library was the dream of one teacher, Sharon Morales. Having transferred from SRES, she had witnessed, first-hand, the positive impact its library had on the quality of education and the success of its students. It became her singular desire that the students of her new school also have the same advantages.

Library at
Villa Esperanza Elementary School, Tangub,
Bacolod, Negros Occidental
In 2009, Ricardo Lagman advocated for the establishment of this library to serve the underprivileged children in his adopted hometown of Bacolod. He has continued to support it through the financing of bookshelves.

Cora's Corner at
Philippine General Hospital
In December 2012, Corazon Lagman Timoteo gave some school supplies and books as Christmas party favors to Philippine General Hospital’s pediatric oncology patients. Seeing how these simple items helped raise the children's spirits, Cora advocated to get space allocated for a children’s play area so the young patients and their families would have a pleasant place to pass the time while they wait for their chemotherapy. In 2013, “Cora’s Corner” was dedicated, a bright space with books, puzzles, crayons, play tents, costumes, and DVDs.

Feeding Program at
San Rafael Elementary School, Guagua, Pampanga
LPF donates one cavan (equivalent to 133 lbs.) of rice per month towards the feeding program at SRES. Students deemed malnourished according to government guidelines participate in the program. Parents donate additional items like vegetables from their gardens and volunteer to cook the meals.

School Supplies
LPF regularly provides school supplies to the San Rafael Elementary School, Sta. Ines Elementary School, and Guagua Elementary School, including GES’s Annex classroom for deaf students.
